Lost and Found

Sometimes it's good to be lost, that is how we can found.

Cool illustrations by James Gulliver Hancock

Very nice illustrations of buildings in New York City.

The Sketchbook Project: 2011 - Figuring Out

Here is a link to my sketchbook which I created for the Sketchbook project. Which traveled on a tour through the several cities in US. Most of the sketches were done in pencil, with some collage elements.

Oh, Comic San... How Designers Loathe Thee

Joe Hollier, a designer in NY, created this video... I thought it was very enjoyable to watch as a designer especially. A life perspective to a font that needs to die, 'Comic Con'. Click here to watch.

Jim on the drums

I took this photo today of a musician outside Bryant Park on 42nd street on my way to the subway. Love hearing music as I woke the streets of New York. Its a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment. I combined two photos in Photoshop to give the image more movement. And called the musician Jim since I first learned that Photoshop technique in Jim Raymo class at Wayne State University.

Sheepshead Bay Canal, Brooklyn, NY

This is a small painting of Sheepshead Bay Canal in Brooklyn. Haven't used watercolors in a while but its great for outdoor painting, dries fast and not very messy. Trying to capture the beauty of the moment and making it my own in a way.
